The firm’s roots go back more than 50 years when Saul Leitch Hays (which became O’Connor Leitch Hays) started in 1970. In 1991, Oakville’s two most formidable law firms - O’Connor Leitch Hays and MacLeod Knox Watts, each with over twenty years of experience - joined forces to serve the rapidly expanding community better. Nine years later, veteran Oakville-based lawyer Brian Hanna joined, and the firm became O’Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP.
Since founding, we have expanded our service offerings to meet the market’s emerging needs locally and globally. OMH is proud to be Halton’s largest full-service law firm, offering decades of experience and expertise in various practice areas. In 1970, Saul Leitch Hays (which later became O’Connor Leitch Hays) was formed as a law firm to serve Oakville, Toronto and the broader communities. In the mid-1970s, MacLeod Watts (which later became MacLeod Knox Watts) was established in Oakville. Both firms were focused on providing exceptional legal services to clients in the Oakville and Halton regions.
In 1991, Oakville’s two most formidable law firms, consisting of O’Connor Leitch Hays and MacLeod Knox Watts, merged to form O’Connor MacLeod. They recognized the need for a mid-sized, regional, full-service law firm with specialized lawyers to serve the broad needs of businesses and individuals in the rapidly expanding Oakville, Burlington, Milton and broader areas.
In 2000, long-time and well-known Oakville-based lawyer Brian Hanna joined the firm thus creating O’Connor MacLeod Hanna, LLP. O’Connor MacLeod Hanna continued its focus on providing broad-based, exceptional legal services to clients in Oakville, Halton Region and the broader Greater Toronto Area.
