Real Estate Lawyer (Contract)

O'Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP is a sixteen-lawyer full service law firm, located in central Oakville, Ontario. The firm has a loyal client base and deep roots in the community. Commitment to client service, excellent value and our strong involvement in our community have consistently made us Oakville’s and Halton’s law firm of choice.
In order to fully meet the needs of our clients, we are seeking to add a Real Estate lawyer on an initial 1-year contract basis with an opportunity to become a full-time associate and develop a successful real estate law practice in a wonderful community.
The legal work would be primarily in the area of residential real estate, but may include commercial real estate, leasing, and land development, serving the real estate needs of individuals and small, medium and large privately-owned businesses and organizations. Responsibilities would include:
- Completing purchase, sale and financing transactions
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various real estate contracts and agreements including, without limitation, agreements of purchase and sale, leases and licences
- Supervising and overseeing law clerks on the handling of real estate transactions, including the ability to explain real estate processes and procedures to clients
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in real estate law as a lawyer. Candidates should be personable, motivated, independent, team oriented and have strong client relationship skills.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and ability.
