Biography
Orie Niedzviecki is an experienced business litigation and estates lawyer who understands the needs of his clients, locally and globally. He brings experience in Canadian and US law to provide clients with sound advice, sensible solutions and experienced advocacy.
Orie has been a member of the Ontario Bar for more than 15 years, having first become a lawyer in the State of Maryland, USA in 1996 before returning to Ontario in 1999. He is also admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia.
He practices in the areas of business litigation, employment law, international judgment enforcement, construction litigation, libel and slander including internet defamation and estate litigation.
He has appeared as lead counsel in more than 100 cases before the Courts of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Orie is also a mentor under the Law Practice Program at Ryerson University.
Orie has also appeared in many cases before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal.
He is the author and co-author of a number of law articles on various topics, contributed several articles about construction law and is the author of a chapter in Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star’s book “Fight Back”.
Prior to his law studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., he received a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from the University of Toronto and an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Utah.
Orie articled at a well-known Toronto firm and practiced litigation at three respected litigation boutiques before joining O’Connor MacLeod Hanna.
In addition to his law practice, Orie has served and continues to serve on the board of a number of non-profit organizations.
He has an avid interest in bird-watching and stamp-collecting and enjoys sharing cultural and outdoor activities with his family.
