Biography

Maria Guirguis joined the Litigation group at O’Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP following the successful completion of her articles with the firm.

Maria earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Criminology from the University of Toronto, graduating with honors, before pursuing and completing her Juris Doctor degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia.

During her time at Thompson Rivers University, Maria worked as a teaching assistant in Administrative Law and was actively involved with the Business Law Society throughout her three years of law school.

Maria understands and recognizes that litigation matters are unique and can be emotionally and financially draining for clients. She is excited to advocate for her clients and is committed to easing clients’ burdens by providing an upfront analysis and realistic expectation on what is necessary to advance her clients’ best interests.

Maria is fluent in Arabic, enabling her to offer legal services and advise clients while honouring cultural nuances. She is an engaged member of her Coptic community and actively participates in various local initiatives.

Outside of law, Maria enjoys spending time with family, long nature walks, travelling, and trying new brunch places.
