Biography

Kellie Gray is a member of the Labour and Employment and Civil Litigation practice groups at O’Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP. Being from Oakville, Kellie is proud to practice law in a place she calls home. Kellie’s practices focuses on employment and labour law and litigation.

Kellie is a passionate, smart and strategic advocate on behalf of her client’s interests. Representing both employer and employee clients, Kellie helps her clients navigate through issues such as wrongful and constructive dismissals, human rights complaints, pension disputes, grievance arbitrations, occupational health and safety issues, overtime policies and entitlements, breach of contract, restrictive covenants and alleged theft of employee and customer lists. Kellie also has experience drafting policies, employment and independent contractor agreements, and termination letters and advising her employer contracts on various disciplinary issues as they arise in the workplace.

Though she strives to reach an early resolution to any employment dispute, Kellie is prepared to litigate if necessary. She has experience litigating a wide range of matters including wrongful and constructive dismissals, human rights complaints, breaches of contract, oppression and derivative actions, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, partnership disputes and professional negligence. Kellie has appeared before various boards and tribunals, in arbitrations, the Ontario Superior Court, as well as on the commercial list.

Kellie attended law school at Queen’s University, where she won multiple academic awards including the W. Leonard prize in Evidence, the Davies Ward Philips & Vineberg LLP prize in Corporations and Taxation and the Alberta Scholar at Queen’s Law. She also has a Bachelors of Arts from McMaster University.

Prior to joining OMH, Kellie practiced employment and complex commercial litigation at a well-respected litigation boutique downtown Toronto.

Kellie is and has always been passionate about giving back to her community. In the past, she has volunteered for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters club of Halton, the Hamilton and Halton boards of education and the Boys and Girls club of Calgary. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Munn’s Child Care Centre and Oakville Kiwanis Meals on Wheels. She is also the chairperson of the Human Resources Network.

When she is not working or volunteering, Kellie likes to go camping with her family, cooking, traveling and exploring Oakville’s network of trails.
