Biography

Geraldine is a Jamaican-Canadian who was first called to the Jamaican Bar to practice law in 2008 after a brief career with a local money market brokerage firm in a branch supervisory role. As a lawyer in Jamaica, Geraldine worked with a firm that focused primarily on financial institutions and securities firms, with Geraldine supporting her clients in navigating regulatory and compliance issues, as well as various aspects of Corporate & Commercial Law.

Having relocated to Canada, Geraldine was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. She continued her practice in Corporate & Commercial Law at a well established Burlington law firm. There she specialized in Commercial Leases, Mergers & Acquisitions and in various types of corporate restructuring, while on occasion doing wills, estate planning and some real estate transactions.

Geraldine has now joined our practice as an Associate at O’Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP. As a member of our Business Law Department, Geraldine will continue her practice of Corporate & Commercial Law, supporting clients in Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring & Reorganizations, Business Incorporations (including for professional corporations) and Commercial Leases.

Geraldine is a focused, driven, and client-oriented individual, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Her earlier training in client relationship management heavily influences how she practices the law and results in high levels of client satisfaction.

In addition to her Law Degree from the University of London, Geraldine holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. A wife and a mother, Geraldine is socially active in our community, whether by serving on the Board of the Burlington Food Bank or by singing with the choir and worship team of her church here in Oakville. When not on the job, Geraldine is either binge-watching her favourite TV series, listening to a non-fiction audiobook or walking through the many hiking trails in Oakville.
