Ken Watts Retires

January 07, 2016

We are both saddened (for ourselves) and pleased (for Ken and his wife Caroline) to announce that our partner Ken Watts has retired after forty years of practice.  Ken was one of the founding partners of our firm, having started in practice in Oakville in 1976 with Bill MacLeod.  Bill and Ken then joined Andy Knox in founding MacLeod Knox Watts in the 1980s and then joined with O’Connor Leitch Hays in 1991 to form the firm we now inhabit.  Ken has developed admirable expertise in his years of practice in commercial litigation, with special emphasis and expertise in construction-related litigation.  He was one of leading practitioners in these areas outside of Toronto.  These practice areas are being carried on by Orie Niedzviecki of our firm.

In addition to his capabilities in practice, we will miss Ken for his positive outlook, his love of family (and his love of chocolate), his years of chairing our Social Committee (and always being the last to leave our great social events), his nine lives and his many stories.  We wish Ken and Caroline every happiness as they enjoy their family and friends, travel, the cottage and their lives together.
